New generation at the helm

After a string of male toga makers, a woman is now at the helm of the toga making business; Helin Sahin. She learned the tricks of the trade from Kahraman Kazanci. Helin could not have wished for a better teacher. He was a passionate toga maker, a perfectionist with an eye for detail.

View Helin's story

Kahraman Kazanci continued craftsmanship and the Rhebergen tradition for nearly 25 years until he passed away in 2021. As an apprentice tailor, he began in Turkey, where he learned the dexterous craft. This skill benefited him wonderfully in the artisanal technique that make the gowns "a true Rhebergen gown. His motto was, "Every gown must be perfect."

Jan de Vos, was the one who in turn showed Kahraman Kazanci the way in the specialty of toga making and taught the knowledge of the toga rules. Jan de Vos manufactured the "real Rhebergen gowns" for 40 years. An achievement for which, at his retirement from the business, he received an award in the Order of Orange Nassau!
